As Kogi State prepares for House of Assembly election in March 2019, Comrade Salawu Abdulrahman Lawal Anaza A.K.A (Olando 1) has declared his intention to join the race on the platform of Social Democratic Party (SDP).
According to him, SDP was formed in 1980/1990s as a political party to stand for rural development, free education, defense, improve welfare, and fight for social injustice stressing that it is the only party that suits his ideology.
Lawal said; “It’s high time we come back home and allow the best brains in politics, we cannot continue to abuse the politicians and their policies. When we stay away from participating in active politics that allows good governance. That’s basically my main aim of coming fully into politics of my constituency Okene Constituent 2 LGA to contribute my quota to the development of the area.”
He added that if given the mandate, he will ensure he would collaborate with the State Government and other Stakeholders to take development to every part of his constituency.
“Okene Constituent 2 LGA is my root and first home no matter what part of the world I live, I am at home regularly and I know what our challenges are and how to get them tackled and solved if elected to represent my constituency come 2019 in Kogi State House of Assembly…this is a project that involves us all,” he saidAccording to him, legislators are the representative of the electorate are suppose to lobby to ensure that the presence of the State and federal governments are felt through the basic of infrastructure.
The aspirant emphasized that, it is his dream to ensure that his constituents feel the impact of governance and not to acquire personal wealth.
“In advance world Legislators are supposed to help in lobbying and bringing state and federal presence to their constituency. Government needs Thinkers and Doers…my major vision is to make my constituency feel the impact of Governance not by acquiring person wealth my slogan is Youth Can Be Leaders Of Today And Not Only Tomorrow…. It’s Possible- UME ETE OYI TENYI OVEEE (the time for liberation has come)”.
