WHAT IS NEEDED IN EBIRALAND BY COMRADE HASSAN ADEIZA OZIGIS
As the light of the day shines on us, its dawn and our Neigbours are off their beds struggling to put their roofs in order to avoid the sun scorching their skins while the good people of Ebira Nation are still in their deep state of sleep snoring and showing no sign of getting off from the bed anytime sooner.

The world has gone so far and we are still far behind in the road to progress and development.

It has always been the expectation of every Son and Daughter of Ebiraland that when we produce a Governor in Kogi State we will mark the end of every suffering and underdevelopment in our dearest land, let me drop that aside.

We have all come to see that the real problems of Ebiraland are not just having a Governor or even a President from our side but the real problem is our lack of cooperation, selfishness, lack of Patriotism, and above of all lack of foresightedness by our Leaders in the new decades.

Ebiraland is not just stagnant in development but also retrogressing, almost all the infrastructures if not all that we are enjoying today in Ebiraland were either a product of Late HRM Ibrahim Attah (The first Ohinoyi of Ebiraland) or from Late Adamu Attah (The first Civilian Governor of Kwara State), Its an undisputable fact that we have been blessed with Sons and Daughters who had served in high positions of authorities in the various Ministries, Offices and Parastatals of the Federal, States and even International government bodies, but their returns back home are not sufficient to effect enough changes in Ebiraland, they imparted not really enough on our Youths in terms of creating Employment opportunities for them, viable empowerments for them to create wealths or invest in Ebiraland except little percentage among them.

Very large number of our past and present Political office holders were and are running away from their responsibilities to develop the land they were born and bred to become opulent today.

I am putting this down to beckon on our well to do Sons and Daughters both at home and in the diaspora to take a reverse motion back home to make their wealths relevant to the people in the 'village', those that are privileged to be in Positions of Authorities today headed by the incumbent Governor of Kogi State (Yahaya Bello) should see the need to make the people enjoy the dividends of the moment they've always wished and longed to have, invest heavily in Ebiraland, I don't mean building of hotels or more filling Stations, I am asking for long term investments that could employ our Youths, bring in empowerment programs (I dont mean Okada riding empowerments) to heavily engage large number of our idle youths to divert their mind from all forms of Social Vices, Facilitate the rebirth of Ajaokuta Steel, pull resources to build our roads, Enough and portable waters across Ebiraland, Rebuilding our Schools, Hospitals and creation of new ones in the areas they are needed.

It shouldn't be a surprise to us that if after the tenures of our Son (Yahaya Bello) we still remain in the days of the past our Youths may take to their past times of thuggery, wars and killings of opulent people in our societies.

I plead and ask that we all contribute in our own capacity to give Ebiraland a new Image, Development and Forward Movement.

God Bless Ebiraland.

Sir Hassan Adeiza OZIGIS.
President, National Association of Ebira Students University of Jos Chapter.
Director of Media and Publicity Youths Enlightenment Movement.
