An Ebira student of Kogi State Polytechnic identified as Sadiq Adeiza was on Monday stabbed to death by an unnamed fellow schoolmate after a gamble escapade resulted into a brawl.
Ebira Reporters gathered that the deceased who was an ND 1 students of Statistics Department met the unfortunate side of gambling, losing all he had with him to the opponent.
In a risky attempt to recover all he had lost, he was met with stiff resistance in his opponent who was reportedly prepared for a possible chaos.
"It was during the fight that he got stabbed by the opponent," our source explained.
In a phone conversation with our correspondent, leaders of the National Association of Ebira Students (NAES) and Ihima Students Union (ISU) confirmed the ugly incident, describing it as unfortunate.
According to the President of ISU, Comr Onivehu Habeeb, the remains of the deceased was deposited at the morgue in Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja.
He revealed that both student unions have concluded arrangements to convey the body to Oboroke residence of the deceased, in Okehi Local Government
